It makes sense to have just one model, anything more and they will be taking on too much financial risk. This is a one-size fits all truck and people who find it excessive might find use for the space down the road with lifestyle changes, I see it happening all the time.

this might be a good thing for anyone trying to get rid of a JK8 because this sort of helps them retain some value, not everyone will want the four door and not everyone cares for a new shiny toy.

I doubt anyone who put the time and money into their JK8 conversion would let go of it so easily, the new scrambler will be more appealing to those who do not already own a Wrangler based pickup. Though with how popular the two door JK8 is, Jeep may want to capitalize on that.

You would be surprised to find out that they would, someone with a lot of money would find it easy to part, JK8 conversion isn't easy nor cheap, so you can already figure out who the type of owner is. Except now they get to own a real version of a Wrangler truck.

Perhaps some of the less customized JK8 conversions will be sold off for a factory Wrangler based pickup. If it were me, I may not be all too willing to part with something I've poured my blood and sweat into. Perhaps pass it down to the kids so I can take it out for the odd sentimental ride.

Better to take the hit while JK8's are still hot, down the road as these Scrambler get cheaper it just won't be a easy to get rid of them. Seen it happen with other cars and you just will keep losing holding onto it.

There's more to a JK8 than its resale value, if that was the case then people won't purchase old rust buckets to restore and drive around in. Those things are money pits, but the joy you get out of them is worth the cost.
