Yeah its come to a point that the tires we have these days on Wranglers are just to complement what the Wrangler is and always meant to be all while keeping it just as streetable as your typical SUV. Lucky for Jeep people view these are the purest form of an SUV.

I wouldn't say it's "lucky for Jeep" at all. They've designed this to be the purest form of an SUV and literally what an SUV really should be and heck, it really is. There isn't another vehicle that's still in production that is more SUV than a Jeep Wrangler.

part of it is luck, luck that all these years some other brand didn't come along to dethrone the Wrangler and now the Wranglers position among SUV's is permanent, everything else is below it in a way, even with Toyota trying to bring back its FJ models.

It's not from a lack of trying with other manufacturers with the old Bronc, Xterra, FJ Cruiser, Geo Tracker among a few. Simply put, Wrangler enthusiasts won't embrace any other model. Jeep has an entrenched name with so much loyalty because they've been specializing in the Wrangler for so long.

Jeep may have the Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, etc. But the Wrangler remains their bread and butter, everyone knows Jeep for that one model and they're willing to devote the money, time, and resources to refreshing the Wrangler and improving it. Then you have models like the Xterra and FJ Cruiser which were killed off after a short stint because they know they'll never be better that the Wrangler.

Patriot sales were decent and if you live in a big city, you will have seen a lot of them. Same went for the Compass. Haven't noticed the Renegade take on a similar effect though. But I with base Wranglers so cheap, its hard to not get one. First time looking at prices I was surprised.

A lot of people have the misconception that Wranglers, at least the entry-level models, are really expensive just because of how specialized the vehicle is. But then they're surprised to find out just how affordable it really is, especially when there's a sale.

What may increase the pricing are things like special wheels and tires that Jeep will no doubt offer with the Pickup. Any guesses as to the price increase?

Or you can find another local dealer and see what they're able to offer you, in that case negotiating or getting a competitive discount is possible. That alone is a standard practice regardless of industry, unless the product is really hot.

Think Jeep is offering the largest wheels possible on the pickup without needing a lift?

I'd assume Jeep would offer larger tires and an additional option so the stock tires shouldn't be the largest Jeep has to offer without compromising the wheel well.
