Unless they plan to do some special tuning and modifying to the engine for this event which wouldn't be totally out of the norm for this sort of thing. The more SEMA-like this event can be the better

Wouldn't it be interesting to see a pickup based on the Quicksand concept? It is a four wheel drive vehicle with a six-speed manual gearbox and a a HEMI 392 V8. Doesn't that engine produce around 600hp?

Depending which year the 392 is from, but generally it'll be less than 450-500hp unless it's supercharged which in this case, it's not.

Probably the most potent we'll see a truck get from FCA is a RAM 1500 targeting the Raptor. That's about it from what I know. Jeep doesn't have ambitions that stretch that far, not yet.

RAM sort of hinted at a Raptor rival. Rebel was just a teaser.

Ram pretty much just put out the TRX concept and said "it's possible" but there really isn't anything concrete yet that I've seen.

It still shows intention much like what all the other car makers and truck makers do before giving products the green light.
How else could they gauge interest and have enough indication that people will want it? Just sticking to whats on paper isn't good enough, getting out into the real world is part of it.
